Come listen to fun, food themed stories, and enjoy creating a healthy snack with your little one. This story time will be in collaboration with the Family & Community Health Sciences of the Rutgers University Cooperative Extension. Ages 3-5. Registration required.

For ages 1-7. Children explore and make music using a theremin, an instrument that can be played without any physical contact. Children will also play other unique sounding instruments like boom whackers and the didgeridoo. Funding has been made possible, in part, by the Warren County Cultural and Heritage Commission & the Friends of the Northeast Branch. Registration is required, please sign up online or at the branch.

Northeast Branch (Independence)

The Northeast Branch first opened in February of 1993. In November 2009, the Warren County Freeholders purchased the Best Fruit Farm Building as the future home of the branch. After a year of renovations, in May 2011, staff and a group of 153 volunteers moved the branch to our new location. The new facility has become a community center with its meeting rooms, public access computers, and quiet reading area. We strive to offer programs of interest to both children and adults as well as being a focal point for community interaction.
