Reciprocal Agreements

Warren County Library participates in two reciprocal borrowing programs, “Open Borrowing” and “CLARS” (County Library Access and Resource Sharing), that allow our members to participate in walk-in borrowing of books, DVDs, and audiobooks at more than 75 libraries.

Participating in these programs is as easy as presenting your Warren County Library card at a participating library and expressing your interest in the reciprocal borrowing program. You may receive a new card from that library system or have your WCL card added to their computer system.  Some libraries may contact us to verify your account, but you can always check your account status online or contact your local branch for assistance.

Each participating library has its own borrowing policies, but rest assured, there is a wide range of resources available for you to borrow. While eBooks and other digital, streaming, and online resources may not be available, you can still enjoy books, DVDs, and audiobooks from these libraries.

Participating libraries may limit borrowing to available items and not allow you to place holds; others may charge overdue fines. To avoid fines, we encourage you to return borrowed items to the lending library. If you return items to WCL, they cannot be checked in until they are delivered to the lending library, which could result in late fees.

“Open Borrowing” membership includes member libraries from LMxAC (Libraries of Middlesex Automation Consortium), MAIN (MAIN Library Alliance), PALS Plus, and SWELL (Sussex & Warren)  Click here to view a full list of the 75+ participating libraries.

“CLARS” member libraries are Burlington County Library, Camden County Library, Hunterdon County Library, Somerset County Library, Sussex County Library, and Warren County Library.
